ThermiVa™

ThermiVA

Dr. Sally Booth, Director of Booth Dermatology, is happy to announce a special treatment for Vaginal Rejuvenation.

Many women during menopause experience vaginal dryness, incontinence and vaginal laxity. Now there is an answer to these problems. It is ThermiVa™.

What is ThermiVa™?
ThermiVa™ is the first non-invasive, pain-free treatment for some menopausal symptoms. Through the use of controlled thermal energy, some of the side effects of aging can be minimized. This treatment may also be used to improve the cosmetic appearance of a patient’s labia.

There are several invasive procedures available to treat the symptoms of menopause, but most women shy away from surgical interventions. ThermiVa™ is the answer many women have been waiting for.

How Does It Work?
Dr. Booth explains that ThermiVa™ is a quick and painless alternative to surgical vaginal rejuvenation that uses a special radiofrequency device to tighten loose vaginal tissue. ThermiVa™ works by carefully monitoring and regulating the temperature that is delivered to the deeper layer of tissue. This treatment method has many positive results, including the stimulation of tissue through contractions, increasing sensation, and the promotion of collagen production.

Typically, patients will require three separate ThermiVa™ treatments, carried out every three to four weeks. When Dr. Booth meets with you she will determine the most effective treatment plan to achieve your desired goals. Many patients experience some improvement in symptoms after only one treatment. She may recommend a maintenance follow up every 6 to 12 months.

Is ThermiVa™ Safe?
The FDA has classified ThermiVa™ as a safe non-surgical treatment for vaginal laxity. No infections, blisters, burns, or nerve damage have been reported.

Am I a Candidate for ThermiVa™?
If you have any of the following symptoms, you may be a candidate for ThermiVa™:

  • Vaginal laxity and a loose feeling
  • Dissatisfied with the appearance of the labia majora
  • Sexual dysfunction and orgasmic problems
  • Pelvic prolapse such as fallen rectum or bladder
  • Difficulty retaining tampons
  • Symptoms of urinary leakage
  • Menopausal women with dry labial tissue or vagina

How Long Does The Procedure Take?
The total procedure takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

What’s the Downtime?
There is absolutely no downtime for ThermiVa™. You may resume all activities, including sexual activity the very same day.

How Long Do The Results Last?
Results from the initial 3 treatments of ThermiVa™ typically last for 9 to 12 months.
